Imaginative!
My daughter likes to make up tall tales too, so when we read this book together, I ask her to imagine what she thinks is going to happen next. She loves being able to tap around the pictures to find hidden words. The ability to tap on individual words and hear them pronounced is greatly appreciated as it helps my daughters emerging reading skills.
Narration Kills
Whether or not this is a good adaptation of the book, I do not know. The voice of the narrator, shrill and annoying, causes this app to blow.
Please replace the voice!!
This is a much beloved story in our family. I’ve been waiting for the iPad version and paid and downloaded it without noticing any of the comments, unfortunately. It is REALLY important to get a narration voice that is enjoyable to listen to, the voice itself needs to have a softer smoother more musical quality, gentler for the ears. This voice being used for the narration is simply too hard-edged or harsh to listen to. I immediately turned off the voice, which defeats a great deal of the purpose on an interactive reading book. Simply couldn’t listen to it. So disappointing. You really want to use a narrator who it is enjoyable to hear time and time again — because that is how children of all ages use products like these — or want to. To be able to listen time and again and enjoy the voice each time. It’s good to have an expressive voice, but even more important is a harmonious, rich melodious one. Find a radio voice. It would be so wonderful if you might at some point redo this one for all those who love it. And if it’s true that this narrator is being used for others of the books, I wouldn’t buy any of the others knowing that. *I hope someone is listening*
